LAMPA fest screening 2 Iranian short films

Iranian short flicks are going on screen at the 8th LAMPA Film Festival in Russia.

A lineup of two Iranian short flicks, ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ and ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, have been going on screen at the 8th edition of the LAMPA Film Festival in Russia.

Directed by Ziba Arzhang, the 6-minute ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ is about a city painted on a tile that undergoes intense explosion and bombardment.

Due to the incident, the sun breaks into many pieces and the city gets dark. But the people build a new sun together.

In the production of the flick, Arzhang has taken benefit of Iranian art manifested in the form of beautiful tile works.

‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ participated in some global events, including the London Kurdish Film Festival in the UK, the River International Film Festival in Italy, the Anifest Rozafa international film festival for children and young people in Albania, the Sonoma International Film Festival, the Washington DC International Film Festival, the Fine Arts Film Festival, and the Florida International Animation Festival, all in the US.

The animation won the award for Best Animation Film at the Tracce Cinematografiche (Film Tracks) Film Fest in Italy and children’s jury award for best animation at the Golden Beggar International Film Festival in Slovakia.

Based on the tiled designs of a Moavenolmolk Tekyeh monument in Kermanshah, parts of the public space of the building have been used in the film. The building is from the works of the Qajar period and the remarkable and exceptional advantage of the building is in its tiling. According to Kermanshah cultural heritage experts, embossed and semi-embossed tiles with very beautiful designs and totally natural colors were used in the building are unique in the world.

Produced by Amir Dezhakam and directed by Mohammad-Reza Hassani-Ranjbar, ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ is the other Iranian short film at this edition of the LAMPA.

The film is about the topic of harassment. Perhaps the day will come when the silence will be broken and each person will respect the other as a person. But when will it happen?

The LAMPA is a charity cinema project aimed at developing social video content and promoting volunteerism in the world. The LAMPA Film Festival has become one of the most prominent platforms for positioning good stories and one of the largest international events in the field of volunteerism and social media.

The 2021 edition of the festival has been slated for October 15-18 in Moscow, Russia.
